Hello, there!
I’m Rachel, an educator that helps neurodiverse families like yours be adventurous anywhere.
For nearly 15 years, my education career has taken me into the classroom, to the library, online during COVID-19, and maybe even to your own kitchen table. I’m a licensed Reading Specialist with a Master’s in Education, and I’ve always gravitated to neurodiverse learners. (I even wrote a science research paper in the 7th grade that explored how therapy with dolphins can aid people with autism!) My best neurodiverse learning experience yet? Raising with my husband our school–aged son who has Autism and ADHD, along with our toddler-aged daughter.
As a family, we love to go on adventures, big and small—in our town, within the state, across the country, and when schedules and CDC guidelines permit, abroad! But having a son with autism means our adventures look a little different than others’ planned trips. This means I have to do a little bit more research, but it also means I get to be creative: two things I love dearly. Most of all, I love finding businesses and locations that support the Neurodiverse Community and are putting positivity, love, and acceptance into this world.
I realize, though, not everyone has the time or energy to experiment, and it’s why I created this blog: to share my neurodiverse family’s travel experiences with you so you can create memories with yours.
Neurodiversity is everywhere, so let’s go ahead and embrace it when we travel the world.
